Hi everyone,

I have an Axim x51v with a 1 gig SD card. I was downloading some files using 'Good FTP' and I noticed that the same file downloads MUCH faster to the Axims internal memory than it does to the plug-in SD card. Yet, things like movies, MP3s, etc that are stored on the SD card seem to play just fine. So there seems to be plenty of bandwith available for these other things and yet not for downloading from the Internet.

Is there a big difference in speed between different types of removable storage? The SD card I got was a generic Coby SD card and I only paid about $10 for it.

Yes, there are speed differences between cards, which is shown by their speed ratings (not always comparable between brands, though). That's why you will find high speed cards (e.g., Sandisk Extreme) costing significantly more.
