Need software to resize DivX/Xvid Videos for Dell Axim x51v

Hey all,
This is my first post on the forum!
I would like to know if there is any reliable good software to resize DivX/Xvid videos to the screen size of my Dell Axim for a smaller file size.

Thanks in advance,
Sibot

You shouldn't have to resize any of your movies, if you are using TCPMP to play your videos. Just select the "fit to screen" option in the viewing controls, and you will be able to see them just fine.

Yep, no resizing is needed, if you really want to resize them to save some space, I would suggest VirtualDubMod. It is not the easiest to use, but once you figure it out, it is the fastest with highest quality.

I know I don't have to, but the size of the movies is too huge, around 700 MB each, it'd be better if i resize them and save some space.

One I know of called PocketDivXEncoder; works perfect with Pocket MVP- URL is:
PocketPCFreeware : PocketDivXEncoder 0.3.60

Give it a try- it resizes and makes the files smaller for the smaller SD/CF cards

Good luck

Like Mr. Unitzero I usually leave my AVI files alone and let TCPMP or Coreplayer auto-fit them for me :)

Back when I did try resizing file sizes I tried SPBMobile DVD and used DVDFab. The SPB program is very simple to use and did a fairly okay job at resizing the raw file. The only thing is it didn't do subtitles which comes up pretty often these days in movies. Could be a dealbreaker for alot of people.

DVDFab is the program that pretty much does it for me for resizing. You will have a trial-and-error day with the settings though. I did not find a place that would give me a precise answer for the settings I should use. I really wanted to cut a movie down to at least 500 mb.

I don't do much AVI stuff these days but those are the two programs I have tried in the past. Happy huntings and let us know which program works out for you!
