Im wondering if its possible to remove the monitor of a HP ipaq (some model?) and replace it with a external small (around 4X4cm) monitor. If this is possible, how hard is it and where do i find such a small monitor with decent resolution?
Well, you might want to check out the Celio Redfly, evaluation devices are just now being discussed on the mobile device blogs scattered around the internet:
I, personally, wonder it this concept will fly......a device that looks like a laptop, with no operating system of its own, used exclusively with windows mobile devices.....hmmmm, I think I'd just use my laptop and link my mobile device to it via ActiveSync and then use software like My Mobiler to work on my pocket pc......but who knows?

But i guess that one is ahrd to sell and maybe not the most easy one to connect to the axim.
Hello!
Im looking for a small external screen to connect to the vga-out on a axim pda. The problem is that i need a really small one, around 2". Anyone know where i can find such a screen? im not good at hardware modding so i need something thats easy to connect.

Snusen: I merged your threads since they both ask the question in two different forums. Creating separate threads in response to user replies creates a fragmented discussions that clutter up forums. Please continue posting your questions and thoughts about this subject to this thread.
To Future Readers:
The original poster asked if it were possible to use a small external display for an IPAQ. Then in his/her new thread, the OP asked if it were possible to do this with an Axim (in response, I guess to a reply that the Axim v51 offers VGA out, but IPAQs don't - BTW the newest IPAQ 210 offers VGA out).

The Following User Says Thank You to Julie For This Useful Post:
Skuze me for interrupting at this late date...thought I'd add my Redfly experiences thus far. I got the Redfly To use with my HTC Kaiser and it works just fine in that capacity. I've been pinging with the folks at Celio off and on since it was first announced and found that they had done some tests with "generic" drivers for the HP ipaq 210 series. Well since I had it I got hold of the right party at last and he sent me the 2 driver files, for the 210.
I'm happy to report that it seems to work just fine with USB connection to the 210, I've used both the Soti and the MyMoblier software and with those it seems that you're still limited to the screen size of the unit that you're controlling but in most cases Redfly changes the presentation to the whole screen size on both the HTC and the Ipaq 210. This all with USB connect. I've yet to work with the bluetooth link and the 210, can't get things connected yet. If anyone has had luck in this area I'd sure appreciate hearing 'bout it.
