Share my internet using WiFi

I have an Axim x51v, running Windows Mobile 5. I also have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, running Windows Vista Home Premium. It also has two WiFi cards- the internal one, and a Belkin external card.

I want to share my WiFi connection with my Axim, so I can use the Axim on the Internet. I've tried using Ad-Hoc connections- the second card connects the Axim to the laptop, and the first connects to the network. I can get it to connect, but I can't seem to get my Internet connection shared. Any suggestions?

Sharing via ad-hoc has many problems.
Two Wifi cards will have there own problems as well.

The red highlighted section of your post suggests that you are connecting your laptop wirelessly to the internet. If this is so, why don't you connect the axim directly also.

If that's not the case, I would recommend that you buy a wifi router, not expensive these days and simple to get working.

I've never tried sharing a wireless network connection like that, but when i was in highschool, before my parents got broadband, we shared the dialup connection using a hub(wired network). A main computer had a network card with a static IP address. It would dialup to aol and had a proxy program installed(at the time it was from a site called analogx). IIRC then on the other computers we had to set the gateway/dns settings to the ip address of the second network card. I'm not sure if any of this would work though with an ad-hoc wireless connection.

The Axim has built in wireless B. Were you not aware? Why do you need the Belkin if the Laptop has built wireless?

I use the Belkin when I boot into Linux, and I figured that it might be best to have a dedicated connection between the Axim and the computer.

Ah, I see. Use one for the infrastructure. One as an Ad-Hoc network with the PDA. What you're trying to do is bridge the two on the laptop. Still, bluetooth is your best option for a wireless PDA link to your PC, and a direct wireless link to the infrastructure is best for surfing the internet from your Axim. Those methods are designed for those specific purposes. You might have to play arond a bit to accomplish the same thing using Wifi exclusively.
