Question regarding Axim 51v

I am looking into buying a Dell Axim x50v pda. This is the most reasonable pda I have found for price, functions, and everything I want in a pda. Plus everything I have researched and heard from other people has 99% been good.

Anyways, I want to know what quality voice recording the Dell Axim x50v model has and from how far it works.

Thanks.

Well, I'm kind of confused. Your title says "51v" but the text of your question refers to an x50v.

My x51v records extremely well (even at 20 to 30 feet depending on ambient noise- the less there is the more distance you can record) and there are numerous settings for quality including all the way up to 44,100Hz, 16 bit stereo, (172 KB/s). The higher you go, the more space required for storage of the recording. Just 2 minutes at the highest setting would eat up 20.15625 MB of space. One can also adjust the mic gain manually or let the pda do it on the automatic setting. There is also software for recording that IMO works much better than the built in software for it.

Of course I can only speak for my x51v and not an x50v unless you were actually speaking of the 51v and not the x50v.

Sorry about that!

I meant the x50v. Thanks for that information though. It might be useful in deciding between the x50 and the x51.
