How to clear unused memory?
My Dell Axim x50:

The internal memory is getting gradually eaten up and I don't know why. I search for files larger than 64 KB and there are none. But there is about 34 MB of application memory now being used and new files have difficulty being executed since there is not much memory left.

Looking at backup files on the SD card, I see that the backup has steadily increased over the years to a maximum now of about 34 MB.

I have deleted Windows temp files as well as any other things, such as email messages. All the large files are stored in the SD card, not in the 64 MB main memory. The only thing left that I can think of is the calendar entries which still date from the beginning of my use of the Axim -- I don't know how to delete appointments from several years ago -- but these surely don't account for the many MBs of used memory.

Any advice?

1st use MemMaid
Start with MemMaid, then with Explorer check all the files in main memory which is like your C drive on a desktop.

I wouldn't delete any system files, but photos, recordings etc can be eliminated.

Go to Oxios (Oxios Memory (Hibernate & CloseApps)- Release memory on your Smartphone (Freeware)) and install Oxios Hybernate and Oxios CloseApps. Run those programs when you want to reclaim your memory. They are magic.
