Axim X5 running real slow

I have had an Axim X5 that has served me very well for over five years.
It is running really slow. Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Possibly it would be advisable to purchase a new handheld. However, not being a techie, I don't know what to buy.

I use only Contacts and Calendar. What is on the market that has similar memory and has Sync feature?

Might just be time for a hard reset and then when you sync to your desktop you can restore your contacts and calendar. I have noticed considerable performance improvement following a hard reset of my X5.

Before you try a hard reset, you might try clearing out internet temp files/cookies/history, etc. Also, if you make it a habit to install everything to main memory, try uninstalling and reinstalling to built-in -storage or memory card to free up some space. A soft reset can't hurt either. You may also want to try a cleaner utility such as Memmaid or SKTools to see if that helps.

As DoDoubleGeo said, a hard reset should help. However, do note that you will lose all install programs and data. Yes, you can sync back your contacts/calender, but you will need to reinstall all the programs you installed. A hard reset just renders your device back to factory state, so if you really want to start "fresh", go for it!
