Question I can't record voice memo

I own a basic Axim PPC2002 and I can't save a voice memo. I use the record button and it start the notes program, but when I try to playback the recording, it doesn't sound anything. I have tried changing the volume level but it doesn't work anyway.

Can anyone help me with this?

Check to make sure you haven't muted the sound.

There is a microphone gain feature too in Settings.

Try your settings at 11,025 Hz, 16bit Mono and your gain at max.

The microphone it's not muted, and the gain it's at max.
I also tried changing the settings (11,025 hz, 16 bit mono) but it didt'n work, even with other settings wouldn't work. All I get when I try to playback recordings it's a static soundlike sound (when I put my ear next to the speaker).

Any other suggestions, comments?

Hopefully someone else has some suggestions since you have gotten 100% of everything I have had success with regarding the mic. Have you done a search on this site for other threads for this issue? I know there have been a lot of them.

I've searched the site for this, but all i've read until now it's that the recordings have static when you use the record button, while in my case I get no sound at all; just if I had no microphone on my unit.
I also tried a diferent software (noteM) just to check if there were something wrong on the built in note that comes with the Axim, but the problem persist.
I'll get in contact with Dell to see if they come up with a solution
