Updating ROM on the X50?

I seem to come across threads about X51v's getting ROM updates, but nothing about the X50 (mid). What can I "do to it"? Currently running WM 2003SE.

I don't know that they're are any plans for any wm 6/6.1 roms, I know Lenny was trying to gauge interest in portin to the x51, but that is still in the works even..

The latest rom update for the X50(mid) is Dell's WM5 A02 rom. I'm working on the next rom, but I need someone to dump the contents of their X50(mid) running the WM5 A02 rom after a hard reset. If someone can do that, it would be greatly appreciated as I don't have a working axim right now. You can do it by downloading the GrabIt tool, found at grab_it - invisible ROM dumper - xda-developers, and following the instructions given. Please upload the raw dump to the web somewhere and give me the link to it.

Is WM5 worth the upgrade? Seems from what I've read from the X51 people that WM5 wasn't that big of an improvement - or unstable or something.

Can I read about it on the Dell site?

The upgrade to WM5 for the X50 has quite a few problems. I believe the majority of people who did it went back to the original OS.
Generally it was slower and unstable, even on the X51, which it was suppose to work on, it was slow and unstable.
I'm not even sure if you can upgrade the mid to wm5, but I think you will find it's not worth the effort.
2003 is a nice, fast and stable OS. Enjoy it until you go for a device with a newer system that was designed for it.

I doubt you will find any worthwhile info on the Dell site, but there are many many threads here about it.

That's what I thought I'd been reading. I'll stick w/ WM2003 for now.
