I have an axim x51 and this is my first pocket pc and I am new to it. I bought some books on cd that I want to install on my pocket pc. I have tried everything to install those files. I can't install the disks, I get an error that it wasn't created on a pocket pc. Then I tried to just move the cab files onto it and install the cab files but they won't install. The program that is on the original disk uses WordCruncher to read the files. I have tried many cab installer programs and nothing works or I am doing it all wrong.

Does a pocket pc use a different type of program installer than what a regular pc use? My laptop uses windows vista and my Axim uses Windows Mobile 5.0

I am at a loss, I hope that someone can send me in the right direction.... PLEASE!

A Pocket PC uses a very different operating system from a PC.

Programs that run on PC generally won't work on a PPC.

Wordcruncher appears to be a PC program, you would need a PPC version of it to work with your Ax. I couldn't find one in my quick look to see what it was.
Can you open the books on your PC?

If so,You may be able to convert the books on your PC to a format that is readable to one of the eReaders.

There are many ebook readers available for PPC, some free and some pay.
The file type of the books you have on CD effect what ebook reader you need.

Try a few different readers and see what works for you.
