WPA-PSK question + Odyssey

I have started a new thread because I feel it is warranted.
I have the X51V. A12 I havent been able to connect to my wireless network at all if I have WPA-PSK encryption enabled. When security is disabled its fine. I have read that others have managed with this encryption on here but how? The WLAN utility absolutely refuses it. It sees the SSID but no connection. Keeps 'connecting' but never does. b/g is enabled in router. Would I be better to try through Odyssey and can anyone help me with this this as my axim didnt come with instructions.
I onlly want to have to resort to WEP if absolutely necessary ( assuming that works). I bought this pda for wireless connection so little disillusioned right now!
I had heard of patches for WiFi but it seems I have been using the QVGA one when I have VGA and I cant find one for that. Does anyone have experience about this please?
I just want to get up and running and have wasted days already. I am a novice so clear explainations would be appreciated.
I am also looking for a patch for my SDHC card as its not being recognised. Its a Kingston 4GB.
Thanks

Thanks so much for that...I will take a look.

I just installed the SDHC cab successfully...put in my 4GB SD card and axim froze...tried 3 times..turned off and on etc...just freezing up!

Edit: On my second attempt at reinstall and soft reset it has worked thanks...now for the darned wifi. Do I need anything special extra to use the Odyssey Client? I cant see anything I havent already tried in that link you gave me for the WLAN utility.
Thanks

I use the Oddity (sorry, Odyssey!) client to connect to my home 802.11b/g WPA-PSK/TKIP. Works fine.

One thing to watch out for: You may find your PDA slowing down over time. I found that there was an Odyssey entry being replicated without bounds in the Notification Queue. There were over 20 instances when I first discovered it. I now have removed the client from the startup folder and periodically go into MemMaid (although SKTools could be used as easily) and remove all the instances of odyssey from the Notification Queue. It only needs to present when I am running it after all. I also have entries in the StartUp folder for SKSchema to turn off BT and WiFi. They only need to be on when I turn them on explicitly.

Is the green light flashing? Use the Dell WLAN Utility to turn on WiFi (and then turn off BT (blue light flashing, and it's not K-Mart) if you choose to).

Green light flashing. BT off. No connection..not authenticating. Says WPA passpjrase no WPA-PSK choice. Does this mean I have to reconfigure my router for WPA, I dont recall seeing that offer. Think I just have WEP or WPA-PSK. Thnaks

Here is a screen print of an Odyssey configuration screen showing WPA with TKIP and PSK (Pre-Shared Key).

I think you will find that AKAJohnDoe is pointing out to you that the PSK part of WPA-PSK means Pre Shared Key.

The key is either pre-shared and provided in static form between the host access point and the client(s) or it is periodically randomized automatically as in a Radius server configuration.

And PSK is not encyrption, the encryption is the TKIP (or AES) setting.
