You folks are really helpful. Please don't give up on me. I really want to make this work.

Update:

I decided I needed to leave the house and go to some local wifi hotspots.

I've learned it does pop up the networks when they're new. I went by a local donut shop that has a hotspot I've used with my laptop several times in the past. It always worked with the laptop. It was on the popup and on the List the signal strength was Normal. But, it would not connect. I kept getting a message saying "Cannot connect with current connection settings."

The only setting I know of to change is the one on this screen:
I've gone here and checked the "This network connects to the Internet" box many times, but every time I go back it's unchecked.

I then went to our local library which has free wifi. Voila!! success. It connected and I was able to log onto their system and surf around. I turned off wifi and the gadget and turned both back on -- it connected to the library network automatically.

I went back to the donut shop. This time it did not pop up. But, it was in the list with the same signal strength. I selected it and tapped OK, but when I tried to use the Internet I got the same error message as above.

Someone said to remove a network from the list I had to go out of range then tap and hold. My home network did not appear in the list after I got out of range.

Is there any way to flush the networks list so they will come up again. Holding the stylus on them only gets a circle of dots that doesn't seem to do anything else.

There is something wrong that you don't get a menu with the choice to 'remove network' when you hold the stylus on the network name. I suspect it's some other software you've loaded. The only other way I know is to do a hard reset although you might be able to remove them in the registry. Of course you'd be likely to cause more problems than solutions by messing in the registry.

BTW, there is a discussion in the troubleshooting section of the WiFi Guide on the failure to connect with these settings error prompt. I think it's involved with using 'The Internet' instead of 'Work' as the choice in the connection (I cannot check ATM because I'm on my Axim). In spite of the suggestion you got in another post to use 'The Internet,' most users find 'Work' is the better option as long as you follow the suggestions for other settings described in the Guide.

I solved that part tonight. I just realized there are two lists of networks. One is in the Site tab at the bottom of the main WLAN screen. That's the one I've been looking at. When you tap the Settings button there's another list of networks. When I hold the stylus on a network in this list the Connect/Remove choice comes up. Somehow that screen is only there under certain conditions and I had never seen it before.

I think all of it's coming together.

Now, again, how do I get it to ask for my network password? I passed by that earlier and now I can't get it to ask for the password again.

I held the stylus on it and selected Connect but it just says connecting and never asks for the password.

I "Removed" it but that doesn't seem to get it to popup again. spunker88 said you have to Remove the network when you are out of range, is that correct?

The other page is only there when WiFi is active. I do recommend going out of range to remove these networks. An easy way in your home is to just turn off (unplug) the router briefly. You can enter/change the password by tapping on the network name (instead of holding the stylus on it), and filling in the info on the Network Key page.
