Cool mobile shells

I am set to receive my x30 and have been doing a little research. I saw a shell program and an add on. Has anyone had any experience with the spb mobile shell and spb pocket plus 4.0??? I wanted to know if it's worth installing???

I have not used those programs, but have been pleased with other SPB products. I think you'll find others here who can speak favorably of these particular programs--there are a few threads about pocket plus because it has been around for some time, and there are many favorable comments about the more recent shell program.

One important note--If you have an x30, you will not have the operating system required for mobile shell, which SPB's site lists as requiring WM5 or WM6. Pocket plus can be used with Windows Mobile 2003 and more recent systems.

I am on the handster website and there is a green check mark with a line saying that it's compatible with the axim 30. It also shows 570,925 people downloaded it.

lol I'm guessing maybe it is... well hoping it is!

Practically every software title for the PPC has a free trial period, so you can download, install, and try out the software before you buy.

And you may want to spend some time looking at the popular choices in the different categories of software before buying, too. There is a relatively conveniently organized list here.

I also am interested in getting the Mobile Opera 8.65. Any of you have any experience with this??? God. I'm so psyched

I come from an area with no high speed but it is available less than twenty minutes away! That's frustrating. Now when I go out I can access webpages faster

I have a ton of questions and am new here so bear with me!

Thank you!

I'm looking at the link and am psyched to see emulators on there. I have them on the home PC and was pretty sure they would work on the x30. I'm just impressed with the specs for the processor. Are there any newer PDAs that have the workhorse this unit has???

I have Opera Mobile 8.65 and it is an excellent browser. I bought it because of the information supplied by Menneisyys, who writes extremely thorough reviews here. His overview of browsers is something you might wish to explore: Pocket PC Web browsers – the complete roundup

I could be wrong about the compatibility of Mobile shell with earlier Windows Mobile operating systems. Still, the changes from one operating system to the next in windows mobile have been significant enough that it would be worth checking carefully before making a purchase.

Glad you're here, by the way--Welcome to the site and ask questions any time!

Opera Mobile 9.5 is out in beta here. Don't know if it runs on an X30 ...

I was wondering how one goes about installing 8.65. There's an MSI file or a CAB file there. I downloaded both and can't get it to work! If anyone else has successfully done this... divulge PLEASE!
