Hello all.
Just wondering if anyone here has the original wm5 rom for the x51 (not v), that can be re-installed from a SD card.
Got mines in brick and all I see on dell's site are .exe files that when extracted does not have the proper image files for SD installation.
If you give me the Dell link, I'll be able to upload you .nb0 and .crc (Can be flashed by SD bootloader).

Well, looking at the site again, its just an update.
If you have or know someone that has the rom or has a WM6 rom for the X51(no v), then let me know. Ive been looking for WM6 for it but all I find is the V version.
Thanks

If everything works out fine and you want to upgrade to A05, you this file here.
It will be a few hours (maybe even tomorrow) to get the files downloaded, converted, and uploaded.

I need the nb0 and crc
Thank you very much

I have restored my X51 with the A12 Rom. I am new to this but persistance paid off.
First I downloaded the update from Dell for WM5 A12 rom- I found the link by searching the forums.
1. I ran the Dell Update EXE which created a .IMG file in C:\Dell\Drivers\R129273\ROM\English
The tutorial mentioned a program to convert a .IMG to .nb0, but that link led to a website in French that asked for a password.
The Key to finding it is:
the program name is "IMG2NB0F.exe".
If you know the name, you can search and find the program.
2. You open IMG2NB0F.exe, point it to the .IMG, and it spits out a .nb0 output to the same folder.
Next thing that wasn't obvious to me (being new) was that the needed .CRC file is really just a text file with a checksum number renamed as a .crc file.
As the tutorial states, if the .nb0 file is named "blah_blah.nb0" the .crc file has to be named "blah_blah_nb0.crc". The crc number you create in notepad is
created by a program called "crccalc.exe"which I found to download as "CRC calc.rar" and extracted.
3. Just open notepad, cut and paste the number crccalc.exe generates when you point it to your .nb0 file, and name the file as above.
Of note, CRC calc has two buttons with no labels save ?????. Just click the left one and point the program to .nb0, then your checksum numberwill appear in the crccalc.exe
window for you to cut and paste.
4. I put both the "something_something.nb0" file and the "something_something_nb0.crc" files I made on a FAT32 formatted SD card, which I inserted into my dead
X51 Axim.
5. I pressed "Power" and "Wireless" buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, then also "reset" quickly, continuing to hold "power" and "wireless" until the Rom utility appeared on the screen.
6. I then selected the rom with the center button on the toggle, and again to start the process. 10 minutes later, I had a happy restored WM5 Dell Axim X51.
(I should note that I caused the problem by attempting to put the WM6 ROM for the X51V on my X51, I didn't notice there was an important difference. I would like to see a WM6 ROM for
the X51, but for now I will wait)
I hope this helps someone like me who was confused by the terms.

Thanks Johnhu. I actually found it looking a little harder. Now I see that jehele found it also. But I still appreciate your help with this. Now I also know how to do it myself in-case something happens or someone else needs help.
Thanks again.
