I bought an X30 on ebay fully loaded with medical programs, and everything pretty well works. How can I back up the SkyScape and other programs to my PC so I don't lose them in the future?
Also, some of the programs crash just about every time I use them, and I have to reboot the Axim to get them started again. Am I stuck with this? Do I have to buy new software to get working programs, or is there some fix? Thanks to all.
The programs that crash are both SkyScape programs:
Davis's Drug Guide for Nurses, Version 9.3.7
Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary, Version 8.1.9
I imagine others would crash too it I used them as freqeuntly.
I have about 20 programs I want to back up to my PC, most all are SkyScape programs.
Oh, in answer to your question I don't have either backup program, and did not know about them until you mentioned them. Which do you recommend, and from where to obtain? Thanks.
I second SPB backup. Works awesome for a great price. Here's the link: here

OK I'll purchase the SBP back up. Will this help my consistently crashing programs? Should I back it all up (my X30 Axim), wipe it clean, reload? Or are these crashing programs just corrupted and I need to trash them and buy new ones? Thanks.
I'd be backing up pretty quick if I was you, one Hard Reset and they are gone.
If you bought the Axim and the software was part of the package then the seller needs to give you the registration info and codes.
If the software is incidental then you may want to look into buying the software that you need.
Basically, a back up, hard reset, and restore may only take you back to where you are now.
It could be anything causing the crashes and restoring only restores the original problem.
A proper Hard Reset and then install the programs you want and need is the best way to go, but without the Reg Codes from the original owner you probably won't be able to run them properly.
You could relocate the programs to an SD card using Mermaid or similar, and then hard reset.
The programs themselves may be fine, perhaps it is just one that is causing you problems, but knowing which is difficult from here.
One possibility that springs to mind, are you closing programs or do you have them running in the background all the time.
The X button generally only minimizes, you need to go into the settings and actually close running programs.
A used device always has other peoples problems on it, it is always best to wipe it clean and start over.
