V51 & Bluetooth

Hi, I got a question about Blutooth & my V51.......is it possible to access the net with my V51 by a BLUETOOTH DONGLE??

I saw som dongle on ebay for less then 5$........if I get it right, all I have to do is to stick the dongle in a free USB, open my V51 and hop on the net???

Is it that simple??

Thanks for your answer

Thanks too for the site......I just got my new toy today & already love it & this site......:)

Yes it is pretty much that simple.
If you connect to your PC via BT you are able to sync and surf.
It uses the ActiveSync connection.

But some BT dongles are better than others.
Sometimes a cheap 5 buck one is better than a 40 dollar one.
People have had difficulties getting connected this way, but it is certainly possible and usually easy.
I can't suggest any brands of dongle to try or avoid.

There are a few limitations when using Bluetooth to get access to the internet:
  • You must install drivers to the computer where you plan to use the dongle (the dongle should come with this software), so the dongle can only be used (probably) with your personal computer (unless you can install the software to the other computers you might use, like work and school computers)
  • The connection uses your computer's internet connection, so it is not a dedicated connection for the pocket pc. If you computer has no internet connection, your pocket pc will not have an internet connection.
  • You'll use the ActiveSync (or WMDC) passthrough internet connection. So you should get this working first - and, like the bluetooth drivers, you'll need to have ActiveSync or WMDC installed on the computers where you plan to use the dongle.
