Comcast Email - Axim X5

Having trouble with setting up email with my Axim X5 and comcast email. It will receive email with no problems. But can't send mail at all. What's the problem? Can go to the internet with no problem. Using a socket low power wlan compact flash card.

Often, the outgoing mail requires the 'authenticate outgoing mail' box to be checked. The exact location of this setting has changed in different Pocket Outlook versions but you should be able to find it in the email settings.

I tried your suggestion, but didn't effect the sending of the email. Still won't send the mail. I'm using Pocket PC 2003. Any other suggestions?

Make sure you have the proper server names (mail.comcast.net and smtp.comcast.net). You might also try the IP numbers (204.127.198.10 and 204.127.202.27, respectively). The domain field should be empty.

If it appears to be timing out problem, you could try this registry hack (do a backup before messing in your registry):
1. For registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox, create new DWORD ForceOffSSL and give it a value of 1.
2. Soft-reset device (or stop (kill) Inbox and restart Inbox)

Also, see FlyACL's post for more detailed email settings.

Thanks for the information. Problem is fixed now by your suggestions. I had to check for the outgoing mail requires the 'authenticate outgoing mail' box to be checked. So I made this change. Then after your last suggestion about clearing the domain: box, then I tried it. WOW it send the mail out.
