can i ask how you go about installing a new theme on my x51v please?

You goto Start/Settings/Today that should bring you to the
"Select a Theme" screen,then you can chose an existing
theme or browse for a pic to use as one.If you want to
create your own specific themes ( .tsk files) you can use
online or download to your PC "Theme Genarator" that's
what I use.

so in terms of .tsk files, do i simply download and then sync to my dell??? is there a secific place that the file has to go to?

Copy the .tsk file into the "My Documents" of your Axim.

The "My Documents" folder should be in your root folder (aka, "My Device")

Then, as bigstr said, Start->Settings->Today->Select your theme and press ok (upper-right corner)
