Question Can you add document to start menu? in axim x50v

I was wondering if you can add documents to your start up menu on the dell axim x50v..mobile upgraded of course..

It has the basic start up options to select but no document option, can this be done and if so HOW

I know just the basics, I am a newbie for pda's...

Can you let me know if this can be done?

Thank you very very much, have a great day

It can be done, but M$ should have made it Drag-n-Drop...

1. Open up notepad on your PC
2. Type in "21#:MSFEXPLORE \My Documents" (no quotes, no space at the end)
3. Save it as "Documents.lnk" (With quotes)(Note that is an .LNK, not INK)
3. Copy the file to root\Windows\Start Menu\
4. Tap the start button on your Axim and see if it works...

I assumed your "Document" is "My Document", not "Document and Settings". If it is "Document and Settings, just replace it with "21#:MSFEXPLORE \Document and Settings"

If you want to have "My Documents" to appear in the "Today" list then I'll suggest this procedure:

From your main screen click - in sequence - on these labels:

Today->Settings->Menus->Start Menu

You will now see a list of available programs which can appear in the list of "Today"
The limit is 7 programs

In the list you'll find "My Documents" - hopefully :o

Put a check mark - looks like a V - in the square to the left of "My Documents"

Click on OK located in the upper right corner

Click on the 'Flag' in the upper left corner

You should now be able to select "My Documents"

Good luck :)

I don't think she wants "My Documents" I think she wants a specific document.

Z, My Documents does not appear on the list. It is only for programs.

If nobody else answers the question, I'll make a Jing video tutorial when I get home this afternoon.

@ Box: You may be right but this is a start - at least ®

@ John: Well any link in the list will work - not just programs.
I found "My Documents" in the list - but maybe I've created the link myself in the far past - I don't remember

Yeah, I'm getting old :p

To get My Documents into the list.

Open File Explorer to My Device

Tap and hold on the My Documents folder a popup will appear
Select Copy.

Scroll down to the Windows folder and Tap it, it might take a little while to open.

Scroll to the folder called Start Menu, Tap it. When it opens Tap the Menu button, bottom right, tap Edit and select Paste Shortcut.

Tap ok to get out.

Then follow Zaniax's instructions to put in the start menu drop down.
