Show Axim as Drive

Hi,

Is there anyway to have the axim appear as a drive instead of "Mobile Device"?

Thanks.

Julie, actually yes.

Kind of pointless to have only 190MB (Even less that, usually) of storage to use on your PC, don't you think?
I guess you could use the SD and CF card as a drive...

Anyway, here is a program that allows you to do that.

Here is a compatibility list for that program:

Dell
Model Test result Notes
Axim X30 Works fine Version 2.01 or later is required
Axim X5 Doesn't work MQ1100 chip problem
Axim X50 Works fine Built-In Storage is not supported
Axim X50V Works fine Built-In Storage is not supported
Axim X51V Works fine ROM Update A12 requires Version 2.18 or later

I think that Softik Card Export gives you easy access to installed storage cards, but I'm not sure that it does much with a pocket pc's main memory... it has been a long time since I used thst software.

From the looks of the screenshot, it looks the iPaq main memory can be used too. Of course, I may be wrong. Heck, give it a try.

Yes it works for main memory too, it simply cuts ActiveSync out and gives the various parts of your device a drive letter.
Other benefits are it transfers files slightly faster than active sync and it means you can connect to any PC without having to have Activesync.
