Hi... newbie here!

I am in desperate need of help. I have a Dell Axim x50, Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Version 4.21.1088. I am trying to Configure and Use my Dell TrueMobile 1180 WLAN Compact Flash Card (2.4 GHz - IEEE 802.11b) with my Axim.

Whenever I insert the card it always comes up as unrecognized. I click ok to clear the window... and then I am lost. I have no idea what I am supposed to do. In settings . system tab, I have an icon called wireless network. I click on that and I am taken to a page for wireless networking and to select or create a profile. I am not sure which Network type to choose: Access point, Residential Gateway, peer-to-peer.... I am trying to connect to my wireless router (D-LINK 514.

I also have a program called "Dell Client" that shows no driver loaded (but I have installed the driver for the WLAN card and it is in the card slot).

So... in a nutshell I am lost. Can anyone help me?

If the card is showing up as Unrecognised then no amount of setting changes will do anything.

You need to get the Axim to recognise the card first before you do anything else.

Have you installed the correct driver for the card?

First thing to try if you haven't already,

Remove the card, soft reset the axim (button on the back) then put the card in again.
If it still isn't recognised you need to check the driver.
