error, how to fix?

I have this program that uses a lot of memory, it takes listings from the internet and creates a giant database. The program is called CacheMate. So I installed it to the internal memory, and loaded the database. The whole thing ran out of memory, it was yucky and slow. I went out and bought a 2 GB SD card for the unit, it works great. I uninstalled the program, then reinstalled it on the SD card, so that the program would use the space on the SD card for the database, and that works just fine, but now I have another problem.

When I first started using the program, when it was still in internal memory, I used the Menus setting to put CacheMate into the start menu, since I thought I would be using the program a lot, then when I uninstalled it and reinstalled it to the memory card, Win Mobile 2003 left CacheMate in the Menu, but gave it a generic icon, and then also put a new icon in the choices, representing the new installation on the memory card.

So I figured I could just uncheck the icon for the old installation, and just check the new one, and all would be well again. Wrong! When I try to uncheck the old app with the generic icon, an error box pops up that says "Unable to move that item" and then when I try to check the new icon, with the normal icon, the exact same error box pops up with the same message.

Help! How can I get rid of the old one, and use the new one?

thanks

Using File Explorer, find the Start Menu folder, this should have both versions in it.
Delete the one you don't want.
Soft reset and you should be able to tic the other.

Ok, I have found it.

This is a silly question, how do you you soft reset? I only know how to hard reset with the button on the back.

I ended up hard resetting it with the button after I deleted the shortcut that was dead, and all is well now. Thanks a ton. I still don't know how to soft reset it though.

To soft reset, just poke the reset hole (Don't press power+reset, that will give a hard reset!)

oh, I thought the button alone was the hard reset, and that a soft reboot was done with software, which is the way it would be on a PC.

Thanks
