New user questions

I know that the following is probably a common question, so forgive me for the repetition. I would like to know if there is an easy way to transfer my contacts lists from my Palm 500 to my new X5. I would also like to know if it is really necessary to put a screen protector on my X5. I never used one on my Palm, and have had it for over two years with no problems. Thank you for your time.

I can't comment on your Palm question, but as for your screen protector question, there are many threads here that already address this. Do a search on "screen protectors" and you will find them. Here is one thread which might help you in particular: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...reen+protector. As you can see, there seems to be pros and cons and it's really up to you.

yeah, you can install pocket mirror (its on your palm cd) and synch with outlook. synch your axim with outlook and everything is fine.

2nd: its not neccesary but very smart if you use a protector, why not infest a few bucks to protect a several hunderd dollar investment.

I was able to export from my palm file to a excel file and then import to outlook contacts, it took a few trys on mapping but was able to download all contacts over 600 sure save me a lot of manual inputting.

Whew, that's a lot of brain damage. Much easier to sync from the Palm to Outlook and from Outlook to the Ax. Been there, done that.
