Aximsitex50icon Upgrading my Axim X50 for wireless

I just received a hand me down x50. I thought it had wireless but it does not. I was wondering if there is a way to upgrade this device so I can get on a wireless network. Please advise me the best way to do this....

Thanks in advance for your help.

Unfortunately, the Axim x50 does not have integrated Wi-Fi. Your best bet is to use a Wi-Fi CF card. Although it does provide wireless capabilities, it uses up the CF slot and drains battery.

Look on the left side of this page for some suggestions. I have heard the Sandisk Wi-Fi cards work pretty well.

Thank you for the information. Does anyone know which is better for WiFi, CF card or Sandisk?

It really depends on what slots you have available. If you don't have anything in either the SD or the CF slot, I recommend a CF Wi-Fi card. The reason is that CF is used a lot less than SD.

I've been using a SpecTec SD card for over 3 years and it works just fine. Low battery drain and connects quickly. I picked the SD slot because I wanted the CF slot open for a large capacity card. SD capacity only goes to 2Gb while the CF card capacity in the x50 is unlimited. The SpecTech card in the link Johnhu_2005 provided is under $40.

Just my opinion. :)

Ps - Welcome to Mobilitysite. Lots of good info and ppl here.
