Question Virus Protection for x50v

As I use email and browse the internet on my x50v, (wirelessly), I'm concerned about exposure to viruses etc.

Should I be, (and I believe I should, but value other opinions), and if so, is there any free download recommended? I use Avast on my PC and laptop, and am very happy with it. I used their trial of a pda version which recently expired, and apparently now requires purchasing (why, incidentally, when the PC version is completely free?)

As the RAM is so small, is it possible for any software to be stored on, and work from, either of the storage cards?

I'm using WM5.

I wouldn't waste money on AV for a PDA. I've been getting Email and surfing the WEB on my AX for over 4 years and no problems. Just make sure you have protection on your PC and you will be fine. However, if you really feel the need, do a Google search and you'll find a few free ones. :exc:

You can install and run programs on your storage cards. :)

Not needed and a waste of limited resources. See the article I wrote about this for a full explanation:

I concur. Buying an anti-malware software for the WinMo platform is a waste of money. There isn't any damage-causing malware for Windows Mobile. (Unless you count phishing, but all platforms are vulnerable then)

er, I guess I kinda, sorta knew that, but I was feeling lazy and wasn't sure of the exact syntax. I've made a note of it now that I can refer to when I post again to the mobile website. Thanks! ;)
