The successor to Activesync is called Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC). Windows XP uses Activesync while Windows Vista uses WMDC.

To download it, click this link. Then select your language and 32-bit/64-bit option.

As he just pointed out, A/S will *not* run on Vista. That's probably why you're not finding it.

What OS is your X5 running? If it's still Pocket PC 2002, you're out of luck.

Quote:
You can use Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 only with phones running Windows Mobile 2003 or later. ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center won’t work with Windows Embedded CE 4.2 or 5.0, Pocket PC 2002, or Smartphone 2002 devices.
You either need to upgrade the X5 to WM 2003 or use an XP-or-earlier PC to sync with.
