Network not recognised

My x50v with WM 2003 2nd edition appears to pick up the presence of my home network, but has just decided it does not want to associate with the router, a Belkin Mimo G+, despite previously having worked OK.

Have gone right through the forum's detailed WiFi guide, gone through set-up and troubleshooting, including checking the router settings, but still cannot solve my problem.

This problem appeared after I had to do a hard reset for other reasons. After the hard reset, I restored the system via Active Sync , and since then have been unable to use WiFi.

Prior to this, there had been occasions when it had been necessary to switch off and restart the router, which always worked, until now.

Anyone any ideas at all, please?

No, I don't know how to!

But a quick look on the net suggests I would need to use WEP on my router, with a WEP key, which I don't know.

Also, if I reset the security on the router to WEP, isn't this a backward step in terms of security?

And it worked OK before.......

During the trouble shooting it may be a good idea to disable the WEP just to eliminate a possible source of problems - but do reactivate it again for normal use.

Well, I guess you should go through that guide again - but slowly this time :o

If every thing seems OK after been through the guide but still no connection you should take your time to get acquainted with Odyssey Client as the last resort.

Ok but give this a try:

Enable your axim wifi.
Stay near your router.
Go to settings-connections
Click on Odyssey Client
Wait 15 seconds and see what happens :o

Thanks- but that didn't work either.

Problem has been sorted, however, by doing another hard reset, then connecting to my network- success!
However, on restoring backed-up files via Active Sync, the problem recurred.
Finally concluded the problem lay somewhere in the backup files I was restoring.
Luckily, there wasn't that much there to worry about, so I re-installed what I needed, checking in turn that the Internet connection was still there, then finally created another backup file altogether.
All is now back to normal - thank goodness!
I've also found that I now do not have to soft reset the pda after using TomTom Nav 5 - an extra bonus!

I'm now happy - until the next problem.

Thanks for all help and advice offered.
