Axim serial sync problem
Trying to hook up my Axim to a serial sync cable and then to an OBDII connector to hook up with car interface. Do I need to uninstall activesync or do I need to use maybe a null modem? What kind of null modem? I've seen a few different designs. Thanks in advance.

You need to stop Active sync from trying to connect and then stop active sync (ctrl panel - memory - running progs).

Then get yourself a powered null modem adapter. It needs to be some form of powered arrangement to activate the level converter inside that bulge in the cable. I got the instructions for mine from a link off this site. A search might just find it.

Just another question will those inline null modem work with a gender bender like this picture http://www.geocities.com/player5667/...nderBender.jpg
I've seen these at the electronic store. Or will it do damage to the OBD connector.

This may help you:

I too am looking to do the same thing. There are a lot of free programs out there. I just want to make sure I have the right cable. I have an OBD-II ISO standard setup in my car.
