Hmm dead battery during night

Went to bed with a full charge on axim, woke up this morning with a totally dead battery. Is there a setting I can use to prevent axim coming on and running at different wierd times?

No single setting, AFAIK. You can disable each reminder/alarm or do what I do, leave it plugged into the charger overnight. It's not a problem since the Li-ion battery has protective circuitry to prevent an overcharge.

casthenet,

This problem has plagued users ever since the Axim came out. The problem is caused (in most cases) by the Axim coming on - often for no real reason - and not turning off because the auto-off settings aren't active.

To eliminate this problem forever, you need to do two things: First ensure your auto-off settings are enabled. Note that after you reset the device ALWAYS recheck these settings. Periodically, Pocket PC will revert those settings to the default, which is disabled - why? I have no idea.

Secondly, open up Activesync on the Axim (Programs/Activesync). Select the tools/options menu and move to the Schedule tab. Unselect every option. This will NOT prevent you from syncing via the cradle. However, it does stop the Axim from turing itself on at random.

By deselecting the scheduling options and making sure your auto-off settings aren't disabled after a reset you can be assured you'll never wake up with the dead Ax syndrome again.

Certain programs will also prevent power off. So you turn the axim off manually, it turns on at midnight and then won't turn off. Windows Media Player is an example. You don't want it to turn off in the middle of playing your audio so it won't allow the device to turn off. If it's playing and you turn it off it will turn on at midnight and stay on.
