File transfer to Axim
Cannot acces the axim file structure through windoze explorer on desktop pc anymore, if I click on 'explore' in active sync I just get a blank window and the system locks up, have to 'ctrl-alt-del' to close the window, only way I can get files on or off is via memory card and reader.

Can anybody suggest a fix for this as I have given up on Dell support.

I have had a string of problems with the Axim and Dell exchanged it [for one that appeared to be second hand] but it still has numerious faults and their support staff never seem to have much idea, it would help if they could get staff that have a reasonable command of the english language.

I would try the following
-Reboot your machine
-Try a different USB port
-Reinstall ActiveSync

Good luck!

Did you install the Dell USB driver? Are you running AS 3.7?

Try opening Windows explorer. Look for the Mobile device [probably at the bottom of the list]. Double click on it to find your way into the cradled Ax.

If you originally installed AS from the CD that came with the Axim, the Dell drivers should have been installed but if you connected the Axim too soon, WinXP will start using some default mobile device drivers that don't work properly. You can get the drivers from Dell's support site and use the control panel to replace the current drivers. I'm not sure that's your problem but it won't hurt to try.

Have you soft reset the Axim? I've see the same symptoms once or twice in the lat 10 months and a soft reset always fixed it.

I would try downloading the new USB drivers from Dell's support site for the Ax.
