coming back to a dead looking axim after a bad stroke - how do i find the backups i made years ago what are they called- is ther a trick to it? thhanks

On the PC look for files ending in .stg. Those are the backups from the Microsoft backup utility.

could the axim find theses stg files by itself even sfter a hard rest?

When you connect the Axim to ActiveSync (on the computer where you made the backup), don't create a new profile. Sign in as a guest, and then go to the Backup/Restore option.
