Offline browser question

I've just migrated across to an Axim X3i from a Palm Pilot, and one thing I really miss is Plucker.

Sure, AvantGo isn't too bad, but it's restrictive. First of all, any pages you grab from it come via their servers. This means you can't set up custom channels for sites like Slashdot (which block Avantgo due to the bandwidth they chew up). Second, the 2 meg limit bugs me. With Plucker I could mirror sections of my Intranet site to my Palm Pilot.

So what I'm looking for is an offline browser type tool that will grab and store web content directly (either through the wireless or through the docking cradle - preferably both). Plucker is only available for the Palm platform, and I've had no luck finding anything similar.

Any suggestions?

I'd also be interested in hearing what core applications people have found useful. WIS Bar is already installed, that's an essential, but I'm sure there will be other core apps I'll need eventually.

BTW, this device is extremely good. It's nice and fast, battery life seems to be pretty good, and the display is magnificent.

Pocket Internet Explorer has built in support for offline web browsing. It works with IE (im using 6, but it probably works w/ other versions) just click "add mobile favorite" and then sync it, it should show up on the ax active sync window

I don't know what I did incorrectly. I could create Mobil Favorite, sync but after taking my Ax off the cradle, I could not surf offline, It said "Unable to connect with current settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings." blah , blah... what should I do?

I have the same problem, doesnt seem to work at my ax.
I have IE version 5.50, could that be the problem?
Because IE on the descto is snchronizing all the pages I seleted, but they dont seem to appear on my ax.

I don't know why yet, but definitely not because of IE 5.50. I am using IE 6.0 on my desktop.
