I am trying to IR beam contact data from an X5 to a Palm IIIxe. My X5 is the "latest" (I guess) with PPC 2003 and the A04 ROM. I've read some of the threads about this issue and installing a new driver. Is this driver included in the A04 ROM or do I need to install it?

The problem is that I can beam a contact, but not all of the info gets transferred - usually the address is not transferred.

I'm not too certain of all the details re: installing a new driver- I use Peacemaker Pro, which lets me beam almost anything including contacts and files from a PPC to a Palm.

I think it's a "new" IR driver from Dell, but I don't know if it's included in the A04 ROM. I also read about Peacemaker - maybe I'll download it and give it a try. Just seems like beaming capability/compatibility should be built in and functional.

Those functions are built in. I am assuming that PeaceMaker Pro adds some functionality, however, I did not see it when I had the program.

When the X5 I had was not beaming to and from our Palms (back with the older ROM versions), even PeaceMaker did not help as the problem was most likely in the IR driver. Maybe there was something new added to PeaceMaker since then. I do know that people were recommending PeaceMaker Pro for IR problems then and since the IR problem can be intermittent, some thought it took care of their issues. From my viewpoint, it might have or it might not.
