Axim x30 battery and documents reader?

My axim has the original battery and it doesn't last very long anymore, nowhere close to the time listed in the reviews.

I'm looking at the extended batteries available, and was hoping to find out how much time I'd be getting on a 2000 mah, approximately.
Mainly for watching video, which eats a lot of power.
The original battery wears out in less than an hour.

Also, is there a program that allows me to read txt, doc files in full screen without the toolbars visible? Or is that already possible with the included software and I'm just not finding the option?

I'm just getting an Axim myself (hoot hoot!!)

With regard to the batteries, although an extended battery will surely help, the original may simply have reached the end of its life.

My company Sony Notebook just had exactly this issue, I had to have a new battery just last week, they seem to last about 2 years.

So, even just buying a new original size battery will solve most of your problem without the hassle of having the extra bulk of the extended battery.

Thanks! I suspect you are right, but I don't really mind the bulk, if it gets me more time to use the axim on the road!
Good luck with your new gadget!

Just to give you an idea of runtimes, here is what I get geocaching with my X50v, so these times may be a little low compared to normal use since it is continuous use and using a CF card and BT draining some battery power as well:

Standard 1100mAh: 2 hours
Extended 2250mAh: 4-5 hours
Mega-Cap 3600mAh: 6-8 hours

These are all runtimes on new batteries within the last 6 monthes. So for an Axim X50v running constantly its about 1 hour per 500 mAh of battery rating with accessories in use so I would imagine your X30 would be similar or a little better.

Windows Mobile 6.1 (LennySH A09 ROM)
SD Slot: 8GB SDHC Card for applications and media
CF Slot: Globalsat BU-337 GPS Receiver
Battery: 3600mAh Mega-capacity (x2)

Setup is primarily for Geocaching, but use it for almost everything.
