Question Trying to copy/convert files from PC to Ax

I open explorer from activesync and try to copy to anywhere on the Mobile device and all I get is the circle with slash through it.
I've also tried to open the word document and 'save as' but the mobile device does not come up as a location to save to. What am I doing wrong??
The only way I can get anything from PC to AX is use a USB flashlink cf card adapter and copy to there and then put it in my AX.
There must me some setting I can configure diffrently to allow me to copy to at least the CF card in the AX while in Activesync!!
FRustrating!!
Thanks for help!

Does ActiveSync work at all for you? If you can sync, you should be able to use explorer from activesync to copy files. And you should be able to copy to any memory cards or indeed any location on your axim.

I don't think you can save directly from MS Word to your axim, but you can save to the "files" folder on your desktop that your axim may sync with -- on my machine it is called "dell my documents" since my partnership is named "dell." ActiveSync can be instructed to sync this folder with your axim.

Hmm ActiveSync works otherwise

Activesync does work fine for me otherwise.
When I run activesync on a friend's laptop it works fine but alas, it does not allow me to copy files on my ME desktop.
Avantgo loads fine as well!!
I'm flabbergasted (great word huh?):rolling:

Worried Update!

I think I only had Activesync ver 3.7 on the pc so I upgraded to 3.7.1 and I'm getting better results!
I can at least copy files but I've found that I have to copy/paste and I have to open the folder on the ppc first then it will 'paste' to the location and do a conversion (if necessary).

My new question is how I can output my calendar from either the PPC or Outlook into a .dba (date book archive) so I can import it to my wife's Handspring visor.
Any ideas???
Yes,yes, I'm trying to convert her to ppc!!

I have not actually used a *.dba but in Outlook on the PC, under "File" menu select "Import and Export" and then "Export to a file." One option is dbase which might be what you want. I've done this with *.csv files which open fine in Excel. It's an easier way to modify a large number of items at once.

Thanks but....

Hey Ike!
I guess I need to upgrade outlook as the menu option to import/export is greyed out! (As in not selectable!)
I guess I'll have to adjust or reinstall outlook!

That's strange. I've had every version of Outlook since '97 and they've always had that option. There must be something else going on with yours but I'm not sure offhand what it would be.
