Just registered here and just purchased Dell Axim X5 GPS kit

As the title suggest, I recently received the above product. I went for the 400MHz/64MB RAM model

I'm still waiting for the GPS stuff to arrive as Dell have messed up the order, but so far all looks good. 128MB SD card ordered and arriving soon as well.

25th Nov: Parcel received containing TomTom 2 maps on 8 CD's
28th Nov: PDA and accessories received all packed in boxes with no space for anything to be missing. Contact customer services by phone (twice) and e-mail and has been confirmed by them TomTom GB navigation software, car cradle, car charger and GPS receiver not received.
3rd Dec: Called today to see what was happening and was told it's in progress and they will call when ready to despatch.

I hope it arrives soon as the GPS stuff was the main reason for buying.

Hello, mccsmart2002 and welcome to the aximsite. :)
We hope that you enjoy your new "toy". I would suggest to keep calling them everyday just to be sure if they don't call you back.

Thanks for your reply.

Tommorow will be 1 week after I received the Axim X5. I phoned
customer services the same day and spoke to 2 different people and someone also called back and left and answerphone message basically saying it's been confirmed the parts are missing and they will get it sorted. I also sent an e-mail to customer services that same day and the on screen message said I would receive a repsonse within 4 hours. I never did receive anything.

I called customer services again a few days ago to ask what was happening and I was told they have my details and it is in progress of being sorted. I gave them 2 contact number just to be sure. Now, surely if missing parts have been confirmed, why havent I still not got them nearly 7 days later? If I call again I will only get put through to someone else to be told the same thing. Everytime I had called customer services, I'm sure I have been put through to India. No disrespect to the call centre staff as they can only go by whats on their screen and their staff training, but I don't feel I am getting true customer service by people who actually understand the problem and can sort it for me.

I've not had any experiences with Dell before now, so I'm left wondering whether this is a one off experience or there are other customers like me?

The handheld is great as it is, but it's main use it was bought for is not being used. I am missing TomTom Navigator 2 software, car cradle, car charger and GPS receiver. Being as I have not ordered this system before, they are the parts I definately know I am missing judging by the photo on the Dell site.
