The Users guide for the Axim says to load Active Sync that is located on the dell cd. I understand that this is version 3.5. I have downloaded version 3.6 from Microsoft. Can I just load it originally or do I need to load 3.5 and do some sort of upgrade on it? I understand I will be loading it on my laptop.

You can directly install version 3.6. However, if you want you can just install version 3.5 from the CD because version 3.6 really doesn't have anything new that benefits Pocket PCs. The new items with 3.6 are to support SmartPhones.

Actually, version 3.6 also improved the connectivity issues some folks have had. I would recommend installing version 3.5 first, getting it working like you want, then upgrading to 3.6. That way, if you have problems with the install of 3.5, Dell Tech support won't be able to point to the 3.6 version as the problem.
