Question Files: Changed Copy Of

After having ActiveSync completly lock up my pc, i soft reset the axim and reboot the pc, after the first successfull sync i have found duplicates of my files on the axim. All with the prefix of "Changed Copy of" infront of them. (active sync was on the files part when it locked up)

Can anyone give any information of why all these files appeared? At the time one new files should have been transfered to the axim. And it there any automatic way of removing them or is it a manual delete?

Axim X5 Advanced WM2003
ActiveSync 3.7

PC Windows XP
Outlook 2000

Thanks

After further analysis the only files which have been duplicated are MS Word and Excel files. Other file types e.g. JPG, TXT etc havent.

Im sorry I havent experienced this problem before. Did you sync it again? Did it duplicate the files again? Download the latest version of activesync at microsoft.com. (v 3.7.1)

I've had this happen occasionally, too. Not sure why, never looked into it too hard as I only sync fewer than 20 files that were "changed", and I just deleted them manually.

If you have a whole lot, that would take a long time to delete by hand, you could use the FIND function on your PC or on your Axim (or both, I guess) and Search for { Changed Copy of.* } in your synced Folders, and delete them en masse.
