Files I don't want synchronized

Is there some way to keep ActiveSync from synchronizing certain files from my Axim to my desktop? I have some Excel files that are only work related. I do not have Excel on my home computer. But I like to synchronize the calendar, contacts, notes, etc. with Outlook on my home computer. I checked the files in the area that says something like "do not synchronize these files." The files were deleted from my Axim. If I leave the files unchecked, then the files are synchronized with Quattro Pro. Since the formulas are different in the two programs, this messes up my Excel files on the Axim. Any ideas? Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Are there some files you do want to synchronize at home? If not, then just uncheck the 'Files' box in ActiveSync Options (on the home PC). Then files on your Axim will only be synced at work.

Thanks, I'll try that. Now and then, but very seldom, there will be programs that I will download and want to synch to my Axim, but I guess I will just let the computers do their thing, and I can always recopy the work files back onto the Axim at work. I want to synch just Outlook much more often.

If you are talking about occasionally installing programs to the Axim at home, the fact that the Files box isn't checked will not effect that. You actually don't have to have any of the items set to sync to install programs.

For occasional files at home, just click on the Explore icon in ActiveSync and open a window on your PC to the folder where the files exists and just drag them from one window to the other (again, ActiveSyn does not have to be set up for file syncing in order to do this kind of manual file transfer).
