A dumb question about ActiveSync.

I feel really stupid for asking this but ... How do you close ActiveSync ? Should you close it on the PDA or PC first ? I tried to find the answer in the book, but I cant find anything about closing ActiveSync. Thanks in advance. - Rob

Man, that IS stupid!
I'm kidding, I'm kidding!!!
I usually just take the Ax out of the cradle and it closes AS on the PC. Close AS on the AX manually.

again...just kidding about the stupid thing!!!

Activesync always runs on your computer. The grey icon is always there... and there is basically no way to close it. It does not slow down the computer, so dont worry about it.

I know of 2 utilities that close ActiveSync, viz., Kill ActiveSync and ActiveSyncToggle. I use the latter.

why would you want to download another program to do it? just use task manager built in to windows.

I use Killsync (and Resync) because it's easier to have an icon on the desktop that to have to get into the task manager. As a rule, though, I never bothering shutting down AS on the PC but Resync is useful for restarting when it gets hung up on a sync error.

I agree, I was shutting it down periodically using task manager. Now using "ReSync" I can simply click an icon to close and then restart Activesync.
