I can't find my manual, and of course I only read some of it. How do I do a 'soft reset'?

On the side of the Ax, just below the record button, you will find a small dimple. Push there. Some people use the stylus, but I just use my thumb. The stylus might eventually puncture the rubber, my thumb is unlikely to do that, unless I really sharpen my thumb a bunch! :D

Aye! And it certainly depends on where that thumb has been now, doesn't it!
Seriously though, that's a good tip. Not the stylus tip, I mean. You know.

You might try a freeware program called Shutdown

It lets you do a soft reset from the screen, like the Windows shutdown menu.
