Julie, there is always something better.. It all depends what your looking for in a PDA and your budget. For the $$$ the Dell is the best..

You should also what you want to use it for.

Is a BMW X5 a good car for me? Without knowing what I use the car for you can't give me a decent answer.

Have you used a PDA before? Do you have any existing investment in current memory cards or accessories? Do you use or plan to use wireless? Is size important? What do you plan to do with the PDA?

There is the Pharos GPS Systems. I think the X5 is better for GPS though because of the CompactFlash slot.

I use a GPS with my X5 through the serial connection. I use a Garmin ETrex that I can use standalone of plugged into the PC or PPC. Plenty of options.

There are also CF GPS cards that will work on the X5 (not X3) or there are bluetooth GPSs too. There is a GPS forum on here, might pay to take a look.

I have an ETrex, and never hooked it up to my PPC. I would like to but don't know what I need for hardware. Anyone know?

Just a cable. I can't remember when I got mine from, I'll see if I can dig it up.

http://www.pc-mobile.net was where I got mine from.

They shipped it from Hong Kong (from memory) and were pretty swift about it.

CONNECTING

Well connecting gps is the least of my worries now. I cant even make it connect to internet using the cradle. Trying to set up new connection just using cradle to connect with dial up, and I cant even manage to do that. What do I need to set connection up as? modem connection? I know this is supposed to be simple, Im just not having fun with this thing yet. Still learning and not to familiar with networking yet. any help would be greatly appreciated. Solitaire does work!
