Coverting an Mp3 to a PCM file

I would like to put some music as an option for my reminders alarm without using the microphone. How can I convert an mp3 to the same file as the microphone puts out so it will be compatible?

You could use Sound Forge to open the MP3 as a PCM file, resample and convert the bit depth to the desired format, and then save as a wave (PCM) file that you can transfer to your Axim.
