Can't see my files on my sd and cf cards

I've had my axim x5 a couple months and I am frustrated.

I have a 256 cf and a few 125 sd cards. I can load music (wma's) and jpg files up to about 20 mb on my cards and everything is seen and is played fine. When I add more files, slip the card out of the reader, and into my ax the card will not open like it is frozen. This happens to both my cf and my sd card.
Do I have to set up a my documents folder to store all this stuff on and if so how do I do this? (when sync'd, file, new folder, and type my documents??). If I do this will it allow me to use the capacity of the cards or do I have to set folders for music, pictures, ect?

Another question. I bought an Impact (by lexar) from Walmart. I tried to copy files to it but my reader said that it was write protected and could not copy until the protection was removed.
What does this mean and how do I do this?

Any help would be appreciated.

The Axim cannot support very large files.

pcwhiz78 - would you like to clarify that statement a little?

ramjet696 - With the card in your reader on your PC, open the card and in the root add a My Documents Folder. You will then need to make sure you have "View Hidden Files" checked in your PC Explorer Settings and in the root of your Card you will probably find an ignoremydocs file. delete this, and then you can add your music/documents/pix/etc into this folder (and 1 level deeper of sub folders) and your Axim should then show these files automatically.

By sub folders i mean, in the My Documentd Folder, you can have a Music Folder and a Documents Folder and a Pix Folder, etc. But not deeper than 1 level, I believe.

As for the Impact Card, is it an SD Card? If so, it will have a little physical sliding lock tab on the side, works just like the lock on 3 an a half floppies. Slide it one way to lock, the other way to unlock.

pcwhiz78 is not correct. The axim handles large files. I created a movie file that was almost 256 Meg (On my 256 meg CF card I ended up with 78k left!) and it played the movie just fine.
