Just new to Axim waiting for delivery, at the moment delivery in the U.K. form Dell is about 3-4 weeks. When downloading software from various sites will the "arm" version work with Axim, has anybody had problems with their virus software picking up infected files from software downloads, can this effect the Axim if these infected files are not detected before they are loaded on the Axim.

Purchased my Axim November last year, received it in less than 2 weeks.

First time user for PPC or any PDA, haven't any virus software, so far have only downloaded software from Handango. As yet no problems. "touch wood"

Having a lot of fun with this gadget, discovering how to use all the various capabilities.

The OS is true windows though, does need a soft reset from time to time. But otherwise a lot of fun and learning for the buck.

Many thanks, perhaps I should stick to a safe site like Handgo, I have been downloading "freeware", delivery times in Canada look to be better than the U.K. I ordered my Axim a few days after its launch here, first I was quoted 7-10 days now more like 3-4 weeks.

Yes, strongARM software does work. The Xscale is simply a more advanced version that tasks better. Also, Xscale optimized software will work great due to the fact that it can take advantage of the core architechture. But, simply, yes, it will work.
