estimated battery life?

I've an Axim on order and I'm curious as to the estimated battery life. I know it depends a lot on how much it's used and what programs are being used, but it'd be nice to get an idea.

thanks

I get about 3 hours - 9 hours. Of course with a WiFi card all bets are off...

depends

I bought an extra battery but usually don't switch until after I get home from work.

Here is my standard day:

1 hour in car listening to MP3's on the way to work.

Random usage on and off again probably amounting to about an hour or so at work.

1 hour in car listening to MP3's on the way home.

(If I played alot of games at work I change the battery now but usually its good for the rest of the day or at least an hour of play once I get home)

Through all of that I have never been below 25%. I however, just bought a 3-in-1 USB/Sync/Car Charging cable from Ebay and I suspect that my hour of charge time to and from that office will make my 2nd battery obsolete.

I do not run alot of apps. I do use the MP3 player alot and I am getting about 4 hours of straight use between charges. I was thinking about getting the extended battery, but with great battery runs like this I think I"ll wait for the $ to drop.

Just out of curiosity, do these batteries develop a 'memory' like NiCads? I mean is it a good idea to let them run real low or can they be charged for an hour here or 15min. there?

No memory at all with Li Ion. As a matter of fact they like to be charged often.

With the normal battery, I get a little over five hours playing games from my CF card. With my extended battery, I get a little over 15 hours playing games from the CF card. I can get a little more if all I do is read e-books. I also have my backlight set one notch above off.

my testing

I charged my to 100%. Used the mp3 player for my 50min walk. I used 4% of the battery during that 50mins.

I'm very happy!

Just keep in mind that the batter drain is not linear -- ie: your first 50 minutes of use = 4% does not convert to (50min*25)=(4%*25) or 21 hours of batt life ;)

After I top off the battery, I noticed that the first 10% lasts the longest. From 90% down to around 35% the drainage is pretty 'normal rate'. Anything below 35% drains real quickly -- especially the last 20%.

Cheers.

I am starting to wonder if it is worth while to order the extended life battery. My order is still in production, and I could probably remove that item before it ships.

Anyway, I'm mainly replying to see if my custom "Avatar" comes up!

Cheers!

I ordered an extra ac and am glad I did. The cradle stays at the office and I plug it in at home when I am reading, gaming ect. The battery life is good but you would have to charge at least once a day. It only takes about a hour to fully charge from 60%.
