What's "Hard Reset using the buttons"

Does anyone know what a hard reset useing the buttons is?

A hard reset restores the device to it's origninal, out of the box configuration. It erases any data that resides in Main Memory, so you'll want to do a backup of crucial data onto a card or PC beforehand, and you'll have to re-install any software that you installed since getting the Axim.

Press and Hold the Soft Reset Button and press The Power Button. This will pop-up a window asking you if you are sure.

Occasionally, if your Axim is frozen, using this method and CANCELING at the pop-up Window, will sometimes allow the Axim to reboot normally.


The "other" way to reset is by removing BOTH batteries - X5 ONLY, (or just letting them drain to empty - X3 & X5). As soon as power is zero, the unit will automatically have Hard Reset as there is no power to keep the RAM alive. No pop-up screen with this method.

(It would've been better to have kept this in the Original Thread).
