Make sure Active Synch is working first.
Most software installs on your PC. It automatically installs to the Ax if you have it connected to your PC through Active Synch. Otherwise, it waits until the next time you connect. When it goes to the Ax, it will ask if you want to install to the default directory. If you answer "Yes", it installs in RAM. If you answer "No", you will get the opportunity to install it in Flash or a memory card.
Some software comes as a .CAB file (often after unzipping). In this case, select the .CAB for the ARM processor. Do not open the .CAB on your PC. Instead, use Active Synch's Explore button to move the .CAB over to the Ax. Most software deletes the .CAB when it's done, so you can put it just about anywhere. After it's on the Ax, go to the Ax file explorer and open the .CAB. Installation then proceeds as above.
You can put programs wherever you want. You have 64M of RAM, some of which the Ax needs to run. If you are installing programs that turn the Ax on (like Pocket Informant or Agenda Fusion), they should be installed in RAM. It is sometimes a little more diffucult to unistall from a memory card, so you might want to install to RAM until you are more sure of what you want.
