Pocketop Keyboard
Morning...
Just purchased a pocketop keybeard for my AX3 from PCworld (huge pc supplier in the UK) No driver disk in the package..!
Emailed Pocketnet explaining & they informed me that I would have to PURCHASE a driver for $10...

"driver is a new driver and can be purchased on website
patrick"

I replied with a polite but firm email explaining that that wasn't reasnable & have had no further response..
Anyone else had trouble...?
Good product (if I ever get it to work) awful service thus far.
Ta very much

I think that if a company is going to do this, they should clearly mark the packaging such that the buyer knows that he or she will need to spend an additional $10 for that product. Maybe that $10 will sway the decision towards another product?

It's misleading and extremely annoying.

Thanks for the info, I will give Pocketop another chance to resolve the situation when they return to work tomorrow...
If they decline to provide a "free" one then I will return the product & keep looking... I am not going to pay $120us & then have to pay another $10 on principle, even Mr Gates gives you free drivers for products he doesn't even supply.
Hopfully this thread will be found by future potential purchasers will be warned that their wallet will be hit twice. Big shame... it looks a great product

Yep, the problem came from the people who were downloading the driver who didn't even own a pocketop keyboard. The driver came with a utility for putting your screen in landscape mode. From what I understand, people were downloading this instead of purchasing an application to do it. I think company recognized a potential profit source from those and made the stupid move of charging for the driver.

I think they need to come up with a better solution than that....

It's fair to stop unauthorised access but every pocketop has a serial no... even a dimwit like me could do a web page to prevent non legitimate use.
The more I think about this the more unhappy I am about the the lack of ethics from companys that do this..

I always thought that people using PocketTop's keyboard was great publicity for their product.

Wow- I can't believe you paid $120 for the pocketop keyboard- I got mine for $35 on Ebay. I wish I had never bought this keyboard- I emailed them 4X and never got a response. It has been a month and still no answer. At the time I would have been thrilled to pay $10 for a driver- I needed it for work. If it hadn't been for a nice member on Axim Site I would have been SOL!

Not only is the new WM2003 driver for the Axim $10, it does NOT support landscape anymore. What is ironic is that the rationale for charging is the landscape function! I've written them an email, got back a totally BS response about "everybody's doing it."

DO NOT BUY POCKETOP KEYBOARDS!

Ok, now I feel better...
