Next Appointment in Calendar Today Plug-in?

A quick question:

I have the Calendar plug-in turned on, as most of you probably do, but it doesn't seem to want to show me appoinments for any dates other than today. I want it to show me the NEXT appointment, whether it is today, tomorrow, or next year, but with the multiple settings and appointments I've tried, I just can't seem to get it to work..any suggestions?

Am I doing something dumb, or asking for something that can't be done?

If the calender you are using is the one shipped within the OS then your right, you will only be able to see todays appointments - and that is limiting!
Unless you go for Pocket Informant (which for me is the best piece of software I have bought, but does cost about $35 inclusing the today plug in), you could try Calender+ which is free. I've posted the links below

Pocket Informant

PI Today Plug In

Calendar+

If you do go for Pocket Informant its at version 4.6.1 at the moment, but they say they are releasing version 5 this month, so you might want to wait although I think they will upgrade for free if you bought it within a few months of the new release - just something worth checking.

Re reading your requirements, I notice you want the next appointments to be shown regardless of when they are. A point to note is that both these just gives you the ability to view more than one day in advance so you could set it to say show 3 days, however this wouldn't accomplish what your after. What you are fater is a plug in that lets you set it to show say the next 5 appointments (and it willl show them regadless of date). Not sure if there is anything that will accomplish this. The only other PIM software I know of is Agenda Fusion but you still need a plug in to show on you Today screen. Maybe just try the above to see if you can live with it, as I say Calendar+ is free and the PI software can be used on a 15 day trial

Thanks a lot for the info, I have actually downloaded PI but couldn't find the plug-in, I'll give that a go..

On your second post, you were right the first time, I don't want to see X appointments, I only want to see one, as long as it's the next one...if I don't have an appointment until next month, I was to see it on the today screen, I'll take a look at the plug-in and see if it makes me happy.

Thanks again for the reply and links!

Just a follow-up..I took a look at the PIToday plug-in and $10 + $35 to register PI is more than knowing when my next dentist appointment is worth for now, I downloaded Calendar+ and it looks like it does everything I want..thanks again for the links.

I think it is $10 + $25 for PI regeistration. I understand, as I think this is verging on the max they can charge for it (still worth it for the week to view in PI and all the other extras you get IMO). Unfortunately for you the plug in was freeware only until the other week and $10 is a lot, I dont think I would buy it if my version packed up but never say never....

After playing with Calendar+ for about 30 seconds (that's all it took to setup), it's EXACTLY what I was looking for, so there's $10 I save, thanks for the lead.
